If you have been injured due to the negligence of someone else, then you may well be entitled to compensation and the benefit of the independent service of our panel lawyers. We will assess the prospects of your case with you to see if we can assist you further.
How much compensation will I receive?
Each individual case is different and the amount of compensation awarded depends on a number of factors, such as the time it takes you to recover. Our panel lawyers will arrange a medical examination for you to assess your injuries and treatment requirements.
What can I claim for?
This will be assessed with your claims handler, however, the different losses you can pursue are (but not restricted to):
(i) General damages- this is the compensation for your injuries
(ii) Special damages- this includes all your financial losses and can include the following- loss of earnings, treatment costs, damaged vehicle/bike claim, hire charges, travel expenses, medical expenses, care and assistance.
I need some treatment can you help with that?
Our panel law firms who will deal with your case will be able to arrange treatment for you if this would be beneficial and is something that can be discussed with your claim handler.
Is there a time limit to bring a claim?
The limitation period for Personal Injury cases is 3 years, therefore, you need to start the case before this deadline. If the claim took place when you was under the age of 18, the 3 year limitation period will not start until you turn 18.
I have never brought a claim before will you explain the process and help me along the way?
Absolutely, our panel lawyers are very experienced in pursuing compensation for claims like yours and will help you through the process all the way through your claim.
What will it cost me to claim?
Our advice is free and your appointed Solicitor will work on a no win no fee basis, meaning that you will have nothing to pay unless your claim is successful (unless you have breached the terms of your agreement with the panel law firm). If your claim is successful, you will pay some legal costs to your Solicitor from your compensation. These will be agreed between you and your appointed Solicitor before you start your claim, so there will be no unexpected fees. The fees will be between 20-25% of your total settlement, which will include the cost of any after the event insurance premiums which you may require to protect your position.
